Duration: Up to 4 hours out aurora chasing. The Aurora appears at quite random times, so we might be out an hour and see epic aurora or it might take until midnight.
Utsjoki pickup time: 8.00 PM
Pick up/drop off locations: In Utsjoki, we pick you up (and drop you off) from your door, anywhere within 3km of Utsjoki centre. This includes Arctic Resort, Hotel Utsjoki, Lomatärppi, Lomakylä Valle, Airbnb, etc.

Join us as we race around Northern Lapland in search of the aurora borealis! We have been running our northern lights holidays and aurora chasing tours in Utsjoki since 2014, so trust us that we know what we are doing 🙂 . It is always best to get away from the light pollution in the village. So even on clear nights, it is good to come out with us. We have a few secret locations we go to where there is zero light pollution and the whole experience is just better! Well worth only 100 euros! If the weather sucks, we’ll hit the road to try and find clear skies, we will drive 100km if we need to.

We monitor the solar wind and the weather. The aurora doesn’t appear at the same time every night, it can come at 8pm or it can come at midnight, so every night is different. Some nights we might only need to drive 20km other nights we might need to drive 120km. We might see epic aurora in the first hour of being out, or it might take 4 hours to appear. No two nights are the same. So have a good meal and go the bathroom before coming out because it could be a long night. We have hot juice and biscuits in the bus with us.

Snowsuits can be provided free of charge, let us know in advance if you need them. These days we see quite a lot of people have great winter clothing, but if you don’t, no worries, we’ll give you a snowsuit. It can be a bit chilly out there sometimes.
